The Action Pool Tour (APT) held its inaugural event at Top Hat Cue Club in Parkville, MD on June 11 & 12 and attracted an exceptional field of 58 participants!

Day #1 provided some great match-ups and a few surprises.  Kevin West suffered an uncharacteristic 8-7 first round loss to Lay Thammavong while Shaun Wilkie came dangerously close to a second round loss to Greg Sabins.  By the end of day #1, four players – Brett Stottlemyer, Shaun Wilkie, Rick Molineiro, and Matt Krah, remained in the winners’ bracket and eight players – Alvin Thomas, Ozzy Reynolds, Mark Ford, Sean Morgan, Kevin West, Rob Metz, Alan Duty, and Michael Wong, remained on the 1-loss side.

Day #2 began with Shaun Wilkie handing Brett Stottlemyer his first loss by a score of 8-3 while Matt Krah dominated Rick Molineiro 8-2.  This set a fantastic match-up for the hot seat between Shaun Wilkie and Matt Krah.  The match remained close throughout, but with the score tied 7-7, Matt Krah came through in the end to win the final game and secure his spot in the finals.  Meanwhile on the 1-loss side, Rick Molineiro (owner - Big Daddy's Billiards) displayed some terrific shooting and stunned Brett Stottlemyer 8-3 to set a semi-final match-up with Shaun Wilkie, which Shaun won convincingly 8-2.  This set the stage for a rematch between Shaun Wilkie and Matt Krah in the finals.  Shaun would have to defeat Matt twice to take the win in this true double elimination format.  However, Matt would have no part of it.  He seemed to work the cue ball around the table effortlessly and took the final match by a score of 8-2.  The complete bracket is posted on the Results page.

The tour would like to thank all the players who participated in this inaugural event.  We realize that you took a chance with a new and unknown tour and we appreciate your support.  Because you showed up in such great numbers, we will be in a better position to attract sponsors for future events.  Most of that additional revenue will flow to you – the players.  Without you, there is no Action Pool Tour and we will not forget that simple reality.  Thanks also to the owners and staff of Top Hat Cue Club for providing a great venue for this first event.  We look forward to returning to this room in the near future for some more great Action!

The next stop for The Action Pool Tour is July 9-10 at Diamond Billiards in Midlothian, VA.  This is a great room with owners who are 100% dedicated to advancing our great sport!  Don’t miss this tour stop!

The Action Pool Tour is continually looking for sponsors.  If anyone is interested in placing an ad during our live stream, on our website, or any other sponsorship arrangement, please contact Tour Director Ozzy Reynolds at admin@actionpooltour.com.
