We conduct a progressive Break & Run raffle at each and every APT event. It has become an excellent way for players to win big bucks!
How it Works
Break & Run raffle tickets are sold throughout the first day of each event. At approximately 8 p.m., one ticket is randomly selected. The person with that ticket has the opportunity to break a 10-ball rack. The rules are as follows:
Raffle Ticket Price
Break & Run raffle tickets are $1 each or 25 for $20 and there is no limit on the number of tickets that may be purchased. Additionally, all players that register online receive five free tickets when they purchase five or more.
Beginning in 2017, the two lowest scores will no longer be dropped from your points total. This means that each and every event will matter. Why are we doing this? Good question. Read on.
For several years, the performance points race has been calculated by dropping everyone's two lowest scores. This was done because several people told us that they were not regular APT players because they knew they would miss one or two events throughout the year and therefore, they would not be in contention. They said because of that, they chose not to play at all. So, in an attempt to attract more players, we began dropping the two lowest scores from everyone's year-long points total. It was done with good intentions but...
The result? Nothing. Notta. Zilch. Zip. Zero. Most of the people that suggested the change still only played periodically and some never played at all. All it really did was punish those of you that did play each and every event.
So, starting in 2017, no events will be dropped from your total. Each and every event will matter and those that play more will see the benefit and climb the points ladder faster.
How the Performance Points Race Works
As a reminder, here is how the points race works. Players earn points based on how they finish in each event and the number of players in the field. The higher you finish, the more points you earn. The more players in the event, the more points you earn.
1st: (20 pts.) x (# of players)
2nd: (19 pts.) x (# of players)
3rd: (18 pts.) x (# of players)
4th: (17 pts.) x (# of players)
5th-6th: (16 pts.) x (# of players)
7th-8th: (15 pts.) x (# of players)
9th-12th: (14 pts.) x (# of players)
13th-16th: (13 pts.) x (# of players)
17th-24th: (12 pts.) x (# of players)
25th-32nd: (11 pts.) x (# of players)
33rd-48th: (10 pts.) x (# of players)
49th-64th: (9 pts.) x (# of players)
65th-96th: (8 pts.) x (# of players)
97th-128th: (7 pts.) x (# of players)
For example, if you finish in the 7th-8th position in an event with 68 players, you will earn 1,020 points (15 x 68). If you don't play at all, you will earn zero.
The Champion (1st place in the pooints race) at the end of the 2017 season will receive free entry into the US Open 10-Ball Championship (held each July in Las Vegas), free round trip airfare, and free hotel for the duration of that event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino!
The runner-up (2nd place in the points race) at the end of the 2017 season will receive free entry into the US Open 10-Ball Championship and free hotel for the duration of that event at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino!
So, play hard and earn that free trip to Las Vegas!
Beginning in January 2017, we will be giving away one free APT entry fee each and every month. No strings attached!
Here's how it works:
Several days before each tour stop, we will randomly select one person from our email list to receive free entry fee into that event. We will then send an email announcing the winner. To receive the free entry fee, that person must reply to that email no later than 24 hours prior to the start of the event.
Once you join our email list, you will be automatically entered each and every month. However, remember to read our emails because you could be the winner.
Also, we will never give your email address to any third party and we try to keep our emails to a minimum. We aim to inform and we try not to bombard you with too many emails.
That's it! Has anything ever been that easy? We didn't think so. So, as a final reminder, join our email list and make sure to read them!
That's right, ladies! We are finally doing it. You have asked us many times if we would ever offer women's events at our tour stops. Well, here it is!
Beginning in January 2017, the Action Pool Tour will offer a Sunday women's event at each tour stop. This will give women the opportunity to compete in the traditional open event which begins on Saturday and the women's event on Sunday. Please note that women classified as "professional" by the Action Pool Tour will not be allowed to participate in the Sunday women's tournaments.
As an additional bonus, there will be a separate women's points race over the 2017 season. Women will earn points based on their performance in each open event and each women's event. At the end of the 2017 season, the female points leader will receive free entry into any amateur event at the 2018 BCAPL National Championships in Las Vegas, NV and free hotel at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino!
The female entry fee for the open events and the women's events will remain $40.
There will also be a women's side pot for those that choose to participate.
